About the Managing Director - Mathew Mckee (BSc)
Education
Mathew Mckee obtained a Bachelor of Science in Physiology from Victoria University, Wellington, New Zealand in 1991. He obtained a Certificate in New Zealand Policing in 1995 and a Diploma in Policing in 1997.
He successfully completed the Australian nationally recognised qualifications of Certificate III in Investigative Services and Certificate IV (Government) Investigation in 2009. Both are recognised within the Australian Qualification Framework.
Policing, investigation and fraud management
Mathew Mckee commenced his investigation career as a Constable in the New Zealand Police in the mid 1990’s. He was later seconded to the Wellongton Police fraud and general theft squad to undertake investigations into serious fraud and theft allegations.
He left the New Zealand Police in 1999 and travelled to England where he worked as a fraud investigator with Her Majesty's (HM) Prison Service in London, England. His remit was to conduct independent formal investigations into allegations of financial and procedural irregularities against HM Prison Service.
He then moved into the role of Counter Fraud Officer with the United Kingdom's National Health Service (NHS). His remit was to deliver counter fraud services including the prevention, detection and investigation of internal and external financial irregularity, theft, fraud and corruption.
Mathew then moved into the private sector where he undertook the role of Fraud Prevention Consultant for Control Risks, London. Control Risks is a specialist risk consultancy and provides advice to its clients on how to manage their strategic and operational risks. Mathew's remit was to conduct fraud risk assessments for the purpose of identifying and mitigating these fraud risks.
Recruitment
In 2003 Mathew established Investigator Recruitment in London. He specialised exclusively in the recruitment of corporate investigators, security managers and fraud management specialists throughout England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales. As Managing Director he had the responsibility for all facets of this recruitment business including sales, staff management, marketing, business development, job board services and of course hands on recruitment.
Because of his relevant training, education and work experience he successfully competed with the more established main stream recruitment agencies and built up an impressive client list which included house hold names such as Zurich Financial Services, Aviva, The Cotswold Group, The Financial Services Authority, Nationwide Building Society, B&Q, Betfair, Big Lottery Fund, British Horseracing Authority, Camelot, Sport England, National Herritage Fund, National Health Service Scotland, GlaxoSmithKline, Haymarket Management Services, National Health Services England and Wales and various UK Councils.
He successfully recruited candidates into numerous roles including Counter Fraud Specialists, Security Management Specialists, Fraud Analysts, Insurance Claims Investigators, Financial Investigators, IT Forensic Investigators, Test Purchase Investigators, Mortgage Fraud Investigators, Loss Prevention Managers, Loss Prevention Investigators, Fraud Awareness Trainers, Information Security Manager and Fraud Analysts.
Mathew sold Investigator Recruitment Ltd to a UK based organisation in 2008 and he relocated to Sydney, Australia in 2009 where he established Investigator Recruitment Pty Ltd which operates out of Sydney.
